One More Day!

As I said I would, I ended up calling in to work. Which was good because when my alarm went off at 6:45, I couldn't even open my eyes. When I called they said oh so you're calling in sick, apparently I sounded that awful on the phone. I actually called in personal because I didn't know what we were gonna do and wanted to avoid any problems. I eventually woke up at 11.

Michelle told me they were just packing and then they were gonna head to the pool. So, when I got to their resort, despite being overcast I got in the pool with them. Michelle had mentioned to me that she was still disappointed that they missed the fireworks last night, to which I said it's a shame you're not going today because they are starting their Fourth of July fireworks for the whole week instead of just the fourth. This got her to thinking how cool it would be to see the fireworks. She asked if you could see them outside of the Magic Kingdom and since I had been dying to take them to the Polynesian I told her how well you can see them from the beach there. She ended up talking to Pete and then asking the boys if they wanted to see really big fireworks tonight and since she wasn't 100% sure where to see them once they leave Disney, they decided to stay to see them.

We swam for awhile and it got insanely dark so we got out and that's when it started to rain. First it sprinkled and then it poured so we ran inside and it was coming down in sheets.Eventually we headed to Downtown Disney. Since it was only 4:30, we had time to kill but it was still kinda early so we tried for T-Rex again and this time they took us within 5 minutes! We got to eat in the ice cave! It was so cool because the whole room is blue and it changes colors! I think I was more excited to eat there than the kids. Michelle loved the fossils too! She decided to get an adult drink called a Lava Flow and since I hadn't had one in awhile I figured why not! So I got one too! It's this drink that has Pina Colada mixed with strawberry and pineapple I think? Whatever it was amazing and we got to keep the glasses! So the grown-ups loved it more than the kids!

We were hoping the rain would stop but no such luck. We headed to the World of Disney store and walked around there, the pin store and the toy store. By the time we were done it was about 8:30 and we had to go! We parked at the Transportation and Ticket Center and took the monorail to the Polynesian. We headed right to the beach once we got there and got seats. I was actaully surprised at the amount of people who were there!

We had a great view! For Fourth of July, instead of shooting the fireworks from behind the castle like they do for Wishes, they shoot them at the park's perimeter. They do 180 degrees of the park for the rest of the days but on the actual fourth they shoot them 360 degrees around the park. Still it was an amazing show! Especially since we could still hear the music they were playing since they play it at the Polynesian as well. I liked it because it was more laid back then being in the crowded park.

After the show we took the monorail back and since the Polynesian was the first stop, on the way back we had to circle the whole lagoon. By the time we got back to their resort (only reason we went back was because I left my car there) it was around midnight. We got a snack and then said our goodbyes. It was sad, I'm really gonna miss them! But I was so thankful that I was able to be a part of them experiencing Disney for the first time! That alone almost made all of this program worth it! By the time I got back and went to bed it was around 1.
