The End of an Era

Now my Disney College Program is over. It's kinda crazy to think that it's been 6 months already. First off I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to read this blog. Thank you for taking in interest in what goes on in the daily life. A big thank you goes out to all those who came and visited me making my program tolerable and one more thank you goes out to all those who sent me cards especially my sister who sent me a card ever, single week. Those cards meant a lot to me. So thank you to everyone!

Now to do the whole reflecting on my program thing. Well what can I say? I can officially say that I worked for the Walt Disney World company. All in all there were definitely some negatives to the program. The job was a nightmare. Some of my co-workers were rude. A lot of the guests were awful. Most of my roommates were the biggest jerks I've ever met and I hated being away from everything I know and everyone I love.

But, there were some good things. I learned how to be independent. I learned that I can live on my own. I got to experience every inch of Disney. I overcame my fear of roller coasters. I got to be with my "nephews" for their first visit to Disney which made everything I went through worth it, to see there faces and watch them experience Disney was amazing. Mostly importantly I met some of the most amazing people that I know I will be friends with for the rest of my life. My roommate wasn't my favorite person but we had our moments and shared the common bond of hating our other two roommates and for that I will not forget him. A select few of my co-workers Joanne, Melinda, Martha, Noel, Zobe, and Jeannette were the only ones who made working in housekeeping the slightest bit tolerable. They helped me when I need help and I returned the favor. They are all amazing people and I will miss them. My two bosses, Toni and Indy. Despite me not loving them at first, they both came through for me and I was truly happy to work with them. My dear friend Heather. Her and I are so on the same page, we have a ton in common and she is definitely one of my closest friends and of course Steven. He has been there for me since the beginning and I don't think I would have made it without him.

This program has changed me as a person. I'm not sure if it matured me more or made me think about my choices more carefully or if I'm more frugal because of it but I do know it has changed me. I have a few suggestions for those who are interested in the program or who are about to embark on a trip to do the program. First when you get your role make sure it is something that you actual want to do, otherwise you will be miserable. Don't think, oh it's an awful job but at least I will be in Disney, because at some point that won't be enough anymore. Second, meet as many people as you can. Making friends while you're there is crucial to surviving and making it through the whole program. Third, experience more than just the obvious. Yes, it's fun to ride the rides and pretend you're on a Disney vacation like everyone else but it gets old, especially after doing it for months. So, take the time to experience everything around you, meet all the characters, do the little things you wouldn't normally have time for, explore the resorts, go outside of Disney! Go to Universal or Sea World or to the beach! Just make sure you're changing it up or you will go crazy. Finally, have fun. This goes without saying but the program is about having fun and it's all about what you make out of it.

I wish you the best of luck in your program and hope my advice helped even a little bit. Now what better way to end this blog then with a quote from the man himself, a quote which really speaks to me.

"All the adversity I've had in my life, all my troubles and obstacles, have strengthened me... You may not realize it when it happens, but a kick in the teeth may be the best thing in the world for you." ~ Walt Disney

One more time

One more time of working in housekeeping and in Disney in general. Unfortunately, I had to actually do housekeeping. I only had two checkouts so it wasn't awful but still I'll admit I was not happy about the fact that on my last day they made me do the job I dislike. I moved very quickly because I just wanted to be done because my mom flew in today also to drive back with me. I did get five bucks from a guest for cleaning his families two rooms. I ended up skipping lunch and finished by 3.

I went and helped Joanne cause she was freaking out about not finishing on time. Then I said my goodbyes I said goodbye to my manager. She gave me $20 from her and the other manager. She told me to go buy some alcohol for surviving! She let me leave at 3:30, which was awesome! So I said my goodbyes and clocked out for the last time.

I went back to my apartment and grabbed all my stuff and crammed it all into my car. I had to hurry because I had to get it all out by 5 in order to turn my key and housing i.d. in so I was rushing. I managed to finish by 4:50, said a goodbye to my roommate and left.

I headed to Port Orleans Riverside where I was staying for the night with my mom. The room was amazing! They've re-done all the rooms there into Royal Guest Rooms, decorated by Princess Tiana and all her friends. There's the magic carpet from Aladdin on the floor, the faucet is the genie's lamp. The coat rack has Cinderella's carriage, the chair is the foot stool from Beauty and the Beast. There are portraits of all the princesses and tapestries of the princes. It's just amazing that every tiny detail is covered! I guess I shouldn't expect any less from Disney!

We rushed to the Cast Store, since they closed at 6 and we wanted to go one more time. Luckily, we made it and we were able to shop. Next, we checked out all the pins in the Contemporary. There's five pin boards in there all together. Then we headed back to the hotel to unload the car and then we went to Downtown Disney. We just went in the Christmas store, World of Disney and the Pin store. We got dinner at Earl of Sandwich and dessert at Ghiradelli and called it a night.

I thought the horrible groups were gone?

Another day of shadowing the manager! I unfortunately had to be at work at 7. The managers had to do back up boards because the computer system was down. So I helped my favorite manager do them today. Then we had the breakout meeting and she had to lead the meeting and I was the one who got to click the mouse for the PowerPoint! I know exciting stuff.

After the meeting we handed out the boards and keys and stayed back for a little bit. Once we headed to the building, we already had an issue to deal with. Okay so yesterday we had a room that had a big red carpet stain. The manager told them to take the room out of the inventory but they had a group coming in those rooms and the person in charge of pulling it out of the system didn't think it'd be a problem. Well guess what was a complaint today?

We went to those rooms and asked to speak to the group leader. So this one woman introduced herself as the group leader so we discussed with her the problems of her rooms. That one, and another room had a problem draining in the tub and sink. So, they were asked when they we're leaving. This group leader told us that they were all leaving at 12:30 and the manager just explained how we can't clean all of those rooms after 12:30. So they agreed to just have their towels and trash taken care of.

Well for the rest of the day we checked rooms, we got lunch and did some room inspections so it was like 3:15 and we had to go back to the office to collect keys and check boards. Well at about 4, the front desk manager calls and says the group leader isn't happy. Apparently she wanted the beds made and they weren't because they told us not to.

The manager headed to the rooms to see what this lady wanted and left me in charge. I had to collect the keys, look up on the computer to make sure the rooms were punched. It wasn't difficult but when you get like 6 housekeepers in that office it gets a little crazy. The lady wasn't there but she found a business card so she called her.

So this lady was the group leader. She was not the woman we had talked to earlier who introduced herself as the group leader. This new woman was very upset cause we didn't talk to her earlier and apparently she claimed that she told front desk to tell us not to disturb her group until 12:30. So she complained we knocked earlier than that.

In the end, one of housepersons had to stay and work overtime to make all the beds. The manager and myself helped as well. We didn't leave until 5:45. So thank you Polish Group from Ohio. After work I said my goodbyes to my favorite manager. Then I headed back to the apartment. Packed like crazy and ended up at Heather's house for one more Tuesday of watching our shows together and then I said goodbye to her.

Finally learning stuff!

Today I got to shadow a manager! So, the day started like normal. We handed out the boards, she told me to wear the radio, which made me feel important. After waiting for all the extras to be assigned to a location, we would normally head to the building but since we were both hungry we went to Dunkin Donuts!

After grabbing breakfast we got to the office and ate. I was showed all the funny videos of the managers throughout All-Star dancing and singing to Call Me Maybe, Good Time and What Makes You Beautiful. After that we set to work we inspected a bunch of rooms in building four. We also had to walk to front desk to get a safe key, which was cool cause I was behind where the people check you in and I got to see behind the scene there.

For lunch, I thought we were just gonna eat in the cafeteria but my fav manager got someone to cover for her so we could go to Panera ( not my favorite but who am I to complain). We went back and inspected rooms in building three in total we checked 17 rooms! We were also checking because Quality Assessment Team was around so we had to be careful.

At the end of the day, she had me prepare the boards for tomorrow. Checking off which rooms are checkouts. We left around 5 because we had to wait for a housekeeper. I can honestly say I learned more today then I have during my whole program. After work I got dinner and headed back. I did laundry and packed like crazy. I think I'm almost packed, but I will need more time tomorrow.

Final Day in the parks

Back to work for my last week. Not a horrible day only 2 checkouts. I finished around 3:45 I would have finished sooner had I not been watching Hairspray as I worked but oh well! After work I went to Animal Kingdom to do all the penny machines that I missed. Then I headed to Hollywood Studios to get a couple Tower of Terror shirts and some Star Wars stuff. Since the wait was only ten minutes, I rode Tower of Terror also.

Finally I headed to Downtown Disney. I booked straight for he Characters in Flight Balloon. I waited in line, paid and was about to go when I changed my mind. I don't know if it was cause I had a slight headache cause I hadn't eaten in awhile or because I saw it swaying back and forth and it freaked me out, either way, I didn't do it. I can't help being a little disappointed in myself cause I've wanted to do it since I got here. I was able to get a refund, I headed to Earl of Sandwich and ate dinner and pretty much called a night after that.

Last Day at Epcot

Today was not only my last day at Epcot, but also my last full day in a park. First thing I did once I got there at 11:30, was get a FastPass for Soarin. I was gonna do the single rider line at Test Track but it was a 70 minute wait and I was like no way. So, I traded some pins at the Epcot Pin Store. Next I made a stop at MouseGears to get my graduation hat written on. I wanted it to say my name and then DCP 2013. The guy like freaked out when I asked that he's like we can't do that cause that's a trademark for Disney. I was like oh I just thought I could cause I'd seen other people with it on theirs. He said Magic Kingdom is doing it but they're not supposed and they will probably get fired so I just got my name and the year.

I checked Test Track again and single rider line was only 10 minutes so I waited. I rode Mission Space after that, on the green side of course. Next I started my walk around the world. I started in Mexico, taking pictures and I rode the Gran Fiesta Tour. I decided it would be fun to take a picture in different hats around the world too. Norway was next, I also rode the Maelstrom, which cleared up some things from the Kingdom Keepers book I'm reading.

China was after that. I saw the movie Reflections of China. Which was cool because it's presented in circle vision. They have screens all around you and it truly feels like you're in China, I'd recommend seeing it just for the circle visions. Germany was next. Then I had to run back to Soarin. I did The Seas with Nemo and friends next.

I decided to head over to the Universe of Energy after that and ride Ellen's Energy Adventure since that was something I hadn't done before. It was just okay, I'm not sure I would sit through it again. After that I headed back to the Showcase I took my hat picture in Mexico and Norway. Walked to America and did pictures there and in Japan, Morocco, France, United Kingdom and Canada.

I went back to America to watch the American Adventure Show,I ended up yelling at the lady next to me for using her phone as a flashlight to look at the map during the show. Again the show was just alright. I headed back to France to watch Impressions de France, which I liked and then since it was close to park closing, I ended the night with a ride on Spaceship Earth.

Last Day at Hollywood Studios

It's been just a little rough, slowly realizing I won't be back in these parks for a while but this one is my favorite and it will be the one I miss. Honestly I may end up back here one more time before I leave. Today was also a little more fun because my friend Heather decided to join me.

As everyone knows when getting to Hollywood Studios you must get a FastPass for Toy Story Midway Mania, so we got that and I finally had an eclair at Starring Roles Cafe, which I've heard is amazing from a couple people ( thanks Sara and Sharon) and that it was. We made a reservation for dinner at the Sci- Fi Dine-in Theater. Since most of the rides were prettying waits we ended up doing The Backlot Tour, in which Heather volunteered to be the mechanic ( who gets a big thing of water dumped on her).

Next I took some pictures at the Honey O Shrunk the Kids playground and New York. Then we did the Great Movie Ride and Star Tours. We caught a round of auditions at The American Idol Experience and saw Muppet Vision 3-D. I finally got to see Lights, Motor, Action Extreme Stunt Show. I took some pictures everywhere.

Next up, we got FastPasses to Tower of Terror and waited for Rockin Roller Coaster. Then Tower of Terror and we hurried over to catch the finale of American Idol, which was good. Until today I had never done American Idol. We walked around Walt: One Man's Dream and got to see the movie about how Walt's Dream became the parks today. It was time for our dinner reservation after that for Sci-Fi. The waiter was kinda weird, he asked of we were dating, to which we said no and then he asked if we were friends with benefits, also no. Umm there was kids in the row right in front of us so that made more inappropriate! Not that it was his business to begin with but even more so in that situation. After dinner, we headed over to catch the last showing of my favorite show, Fantasmic, a perfect way to end the night.

Last Day at Magic Kingdom

My last day at Magic Kingdom. I got to the park around 11:30, took the boat over and the first thing I made sure I did was see the characters I missed on my character hunting day. First I saw the White Rabbit in front of the Mad Tea Party, then I saw Pooh and Tigger by the Winnie the Pooh ride. I tried to see Gaston in New Fantasyland but once again he was out "hunting" so I missed him again.

I got a FastPass for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and took some pictures in New Fantasyland. Basically I acted like a tourist with all the pictures today. Next I took more pictures in Frontierland, got a FastPass for Splash Mountain and took pictures in Fantasyland. I saw Mickey's Philarmagic. As I passed by the Mad Tea Party I saw Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum out. I waited but I missed them, I was told they were coming back around so I waited and stopped the character attendant and begged her to let me get a picture and she did which was awesome! I had never seen them before except for in a parade. I then grabbed a FastPass for Space Mountain.

I continued my picture taking in Tomorrowland, Adventureland and Main Street. I rode the Liberty Belle Riverboat in Liberty Square for the first time which was cool. I grabbed lunch at Pecos Bills and got the Root Beer Slush in the boot mug from Lone Ranger. Then I grabbed a FastPass for Peter Pan's Flight. I knew I had to hurry cause it was gonna rain soon and it was time for Splash Mountain and I didn't want it to close on me! I made it and rode Splash! I did the Flying Carpets of Aladdin next and unfortunately it was raining but I rode with a poncho on so it was okay.

I rode Pirates of the Caribbean next. Then the Haunted Mansion and then it was time for Space Mountain. Next, I saw the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor show. By that time it was 8 so I grabbed dinner at Columbia Harbour House. I got a few things in Tomorrowland. I rode Winnie the Pooh and the Little Mermaid. In Storybook Circus I rode Dumbo. Then it was time to see Wishes for the last time. I got pictures in front of Ariel's and Belle's castles! Finally it was time for Peter Pan! After that I headed to the front of the castle and waited for the Celebrate the Magic Castle Show and then the Electrical Parade. Finally I headed back down Main Street and I'll admit I was a little sad to leave but at the same time, I'm ready to so it was a bittersweet moment, but a fantastic day none the less.

One day work weeks are my favorite!

My long week has started and ended today! This is seriously the only day I work this week! How am I gonna pay rent? No clue! But I leave in less than a week so who cares! Not a horrible day, only two checkouts and four linen changes. The people that pissed me off were these people in two rooms, they put a DND on their door, took it off so I checked and cleaned half the rooms and then they came back and I said oh okay I can come back then they put the DND sign up again and took it off again! Make up your damn mind!

Anyway! I finished work and went to the ESPN Wide World of Sports to do the penny machine. I left there and headed to the Boardwalk and talked to some guy at concierge who after ten minutes if talking to him, wanted to help me move into a front desk position, he said finish school and come back, so who knows.

Then I went to Downtown Disney. I had dinner at Earl of Sandwich and got a few more Pennines and then it started to pour so I left. I got two birthday cards with gifts ( you guys both did to much and you know I love you guys for going above and beyond). I pretty much called it a night after that.

Graduation

Another day off from work. I got up and took my car in so they could make sure everything was good before the trip home. After that I headed back and waited until a little before 1 to go to my graduation.

I got in line to check in, then I got my Certificate of Completion and a memory box. I got my Mickey ears with the tassel. I saw Goofy and Pluto in their graduation finest. Then right after I saw them, they switched and Donald and Daisy came out, so I saw them and then I got in line to see Mickey and Minnie in their graduation gowns. I grabbed some free food and walked back to my apartment.

I watched Devious Maids and The Fosters. For a while I just lounged around and then headed to Heather's we did our usual Tuesday night, watched Pretty Little Liars and Twisted and then I called it a night.

All Resorts are done

I slept in way later then normal, I didn't get out of bed until about 10:30. By the time I finished on the computer and got ready, it was about 3. I left and headed to the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. I got to eat an ice cream from the infamous. N I walked over to the Swan and Dolphin Resort.

After that I headed to Art of Animation for dinner, then I got the pressed pennies at Winter Summerland Golf. I drove to the ESPN sports complex for the Pennines but I guess it was closed. Since it was creepily dark, I got out quick. After that I went to Downtown Disney and then called it a night.

Worst Birthday Ever

I'll admit today started like a pretty good day. I got up at a decent time, got ready and headed to Universal for the day. I got breakfast at Cinnabon which was amazing! Wish we had those back home. I headed over to Universal Studios first to accomplish my main mission of riding the new Transformers Ride. Which I did! One of the most amazing rides I've been on, it's alot like the Spiderman one but it seemed longer and a lot more visual affects.

Then I did the usual, rode The Simpsons, Men in Black. I met two guys dressed as men in black and the actual dog from the movies! You know the Pug who talks, Frank I think his name is? Anyway he was even wearing a little suit! Next I did E.T.'s Adventure which made a little more sense now that I've seen the movie. I caught the Universal Monster Make-Up Show.

Usually they pull someone up on stage to demonstrate how to cut someone's arm off and they picked some Chinese lady and OMG the things they said and the way she reacted was hilarious. The best part had to be when the knife was "in her arm" and they asked if it hurt and she was like a little and the host was like it shouldn't it says Made in China. Just hilarious!

Then I rode Revenge of the Mummy. I even did the gigantic roller coaster Hollywood Rip Ride Rock It. I took a walk through the I Love Lucy Tribute (the one in Jamestown is better). Finally, I saw the Terminator Show. I headed to Islands of Adventure and this is where the day started going down hill.

I was gonna ride the Hulk coaster but it was closed due to lightning. The Spiderman ride was over an hour wait, thanks but no thanks. After that pretty much ever I would ride was closed because it started to pour. So I waited it out and it stopped within 20 minutes. So I just decided okay I'll walk around, take pictures and go get dinner. I walked through Toon Lagoon, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter World, got a butterbeer.

The wait was over an hour for Harry Potter also, so I skipped that. Walked through The Lost Continent and just as I got to Seuss Landing it started to pour again. I waited in a store for a half hour and it hadn't let up at all. I thought about buying an umbrella but not for 17.95 and I didn't want to blow money on a poncho either. So I dodged in and out of stores for a bit until I was near the end of Seuss Landing cause there weren't anymore. So I walked through the down pour and got absolutely soaked.

I was gonna get dinner at CityWalk but I was freezing cold, like literally shivering and wet so I went to my car tried to dry my socks with the heat on and got a towel to dry off. My socks were still soaked so I just put my sneakers back on and headed back and ate at Bubba Gumps. Dinner was good but it took forever to get to the table. Didn't have dessert because after waiting for dinner and listening to three other people get sung Happy Birthday, I just wanted to leave.

I went across to the movie theater and saw The Conjuring, I figured seeing some people die might lighten the mood.I guess my other fellow movie goers had a different idea. The people who pushed passed me and stepped on my feet to sit on my left talked the whole time, like they were yelling at the screen the whole time.

The guy on my right kept checking his cellphone and his cologne was so strong I was getting a headache and the girl behind me apparently is part kangaroo as she kept bouncing off the chair next to me, shaking the whole row. How I made it through the movie without screaming at them all is beyond me. The movie wasn't as scary as I thought it was gonna be but it was okay. After the movie I came back to the apartment and just went to bed so that I could try to forget the worst birthday of my life.

One last wild time at Animal Kingdom

As my program is coming to end I kinda figured out how to do everything at least once more, so today I went to Animal Kingdom for the day. I decided to wear a Happy Birthday button since I probably won't be in a park on my actual birthday. First thing I did was get a FastPass for Everest.

Next I headed to Africa because the Safari was only a 10 minute wait! So I got on that and saw gazelle, hippos, rhinos, elephants, cheetahs, ostriches, and flamingoes. The driver of the safari asked me if I was out alone on my birthday and I was like yep. She was like wow, good for you. Like she admired my independence. At the end of the safari she said over the speaker for everyone to wish me a Happy birthday which was kinda cool. I get a text from my mom and she's like do you remember running a toll. So naturally I called her and apparently I did not pay a 75 cent toll so now they've charged me almost 4.00 dollars because of processing fees, what the hell? I hate driving in Florida!

Anyway, I went to FlameTree Barbecue for lunch, and headed to Dinoland. I finally rode the Triceratops Spin! I rode the Primeval Whirl and then it was time for Everest. I used my FastPass and then went on again in the single rider line. I saw It's Tough to Be A Bug and got a Fastpass for Dinosaur which apparently was down so in the meantime I saw Festival of the Lion King. Since my phone was about to die I went to my car and charged it as I planned my next move.

I went back in, rode Dinosaur and then rode Everest again, I mean c'mon 5 minute wait? I had to. Then I left for real. I headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge and took my pictures there and since I hadn't seen him in awhile, I visited Steve. We talked as he worked for a good two hours, Shows you how long it's been. I'm glad I got to see him. I called it a night after that and now I'm gonna go to bed because I'm feeling awfully sick, to the point of which I may have to call in tomorrow... For my birthday!

Epcot Character Hunting!

This morning I headed to Epcot early to do an entire day of character hunting, since that was the only park I hadn't done it in yet. I saw Chip and Dale first. Then I got a FastPass for Soarin since I hadn't ridden it in I don't know how long! After that I waited in a long line to see Goofy up at the front of the park.

The only thing left in Future World was the Epcot Character Spot which I figured I'd hit it later. So, I headed to the World Show case. I saw Mary Poppins in the United Kingdom, Snow White in Germany, Aladdin and Jasmine in Morocco, Alice in the United Kingdom and Princess Aurora in France.

As I was on my way to China, I saw a whole bunch of characters out by the American Adventure. Let's see I met Gideon from Pinocchio and Captain Hook with Mr. Smee! They also had Tigger, Pooh, Donald, and Goofy. I made it per to China and saw Mulan. Despite my not liking him, I met Duffy the Disney Bear. Next was Tigger and Piglet in the United Kingdom. Finally I ended up back in France to see Belle.

Then, another surprise. I got to meet Terence (he's from the Tinkerbell movies) and Lady Treamaine, Anastasia and Drizella ( Cinderella's Stepmother and Stepsisters). I headed over to Mexico to meet Donald and then it was time for Soarin!!! After Soarin, I did the Epcot Character Spot. I met Mickey, Pluto and Minnie!

Next I tried on a whim to see if I could get in to eat at Chefs de France (I've been dying to eat there since I got here) and I walked right in!! The food was pretty good, and I know I've said this before but I love how they make sure people from whatever country actually work in that country! The best part had to be when a gentleman brings around a big silver platter. When he lifts it up Remy the rat chef from Ratatouille is there! He kinda talks to you and it is so awesome! It almost made the meal worth the price!

I decided to head out since the possibility of rain was coming. I went to Wilderness Lodge and walked around there and took pictures. Then I went to the Grand Floridian and then back to the Wilderness Lodge. I headed back to the apartment after that. We passed our final apartment inspection (no thanks to the billion boxes of beer on top of our cupboards) and I just relaxed and watched an episode of The Fosters. All in all a pretty successful day!

Thank goodness it's my Friday!

Finally! Day 10 is complete!!! I'm finally off for two days! My board today didn't look horrible, only 4 checkouts and 8 linen changes but psh, they checkout tomorrow so no linen change for you! I couldn't get into my checkouts until 11. The worst part... They were Brazilian boys! I've never seen rooms so trashed, there was gum on the walls and floor and the drapes were broken, trash everywhere!

The one thing that made my day a little was the fact that a George Foreman grill was left in the room and since they are incapable of finding the garbage can or using the shower curtain, I guess I'm not capable of finding the lost and found. My last checkout was the worst. The drapes were ruined and the clumps of gum were stuck in the carpet. I tried to get the manager to look at but being that we had the laziest one of all she never did.

I gave up on here and told her at the end of the day. Of course to make things interesting , the power went in our whole building but she still let us leave so thank goodness!

After work I decided to walk around another resort, today was Saratoga Springs. I was talking to Heather and we were both kinda bored so I brought food over and we watched What A Girl Wants and Scary Movie 5. She was tired so we called it a night and now I can enjoy one of my last weekend here.

Two more weeks

Day nine in a row of work, the only thing getting me through it is knowing that it is the last time I will have to work ten days in a row. I got 5 checkouts today, they weren't horrible, I guess the chaperone actually told this group to put everything by the door and clean it up a little so thank goodness for that. My two awesome amigos Melinda and Noel helped me do the first three since both of them just had occupieds. So I finished all 5 by 11 which was awesome!

I helped Heather for a little bit cause she had 4 suite checkouts and I managed to finish around 3:25 which was great! After work I headed over to the Polynesian and walked around there one last time, and then I took the monorail to the Contemporary and did the same thing taking pictures and such. I had dinner at the contempo cafe and then headed back. I got back to the apartment and started getting some of my stuff packed which took two hours and then pretty much crashed for the night, but not before finding another lizard in my room, this one crawled across my pillow.... Luckily I found him later on the floor and as I put a glass down over him, I must have killed him cause he didn't move after that so I flushed him down the toilet. On well at least I can sleep tonight!

Typical Tuesday Night

I finally had an easy board for once! Which means I'll just get punished tomorrow but anyway. All occupied rooms but on the other hand all Brazilians. I got to take a little bit of a lunch since half my rooms said come back at 1. But I still finished on time.

Being Tuesday, I grabbed dinner and headed over to Heather's to watch Pretty Little Liars and Twisted. We chilled at her house and watched our shows and that was pretty much the whole night. It's kinda surreal that in just about two weeks I'll be done with the whole program but I'm not gonna lie for those of you who don't know, I'm ready to go home.

Under the Boardwalk!!

I swear today must have been punish Scott day. I literally had one of the worst boards I've ever seen. I had 3 checkouts on the first floor of Rock building 4 and another checkout and occupied on the second floor. In building three I had 2 linen changes on the second floor and 4 occupied on the third. Finally I had tree occupied on the first floor of Calypso and another one on the second. The checkouts were horrible. Two mammoth sized garbage bags full of trash in each room. With the help of Heather in the Calypso rooms and Melinda on my last few at the end of the day. I finally finished around 3:44.

My favorite part of the day had to be the guest that stopped me. She says could you please get rid of that giant grasshopper by our door, so I go over to it, pick it up and throw it over the balcony. I walked npast her and her son is like whoa! You just picked it up! I look at the mom and say that was a leaf. She's like it was? I'm like yeah and then she's like, oh well I'm from New York and I don't so big bugs there. I thought yeah lady I'm from New York too and I'm not afraid of grasshoppers!

After work I got some food and waited for the rain to let up. When it did, I headed to the Boardwalk. I never knew you could walk to Epcot? Anyway so I took all my pictures for there, got a frozen Magarita and a beautiful cupcake from the boardwalk bakery for desert. I got to see Illjminations. The bridge connecting Yacht and beach to the boardwalk, was a perfect place to view the fireworks!! After that I pretty much called if a night.

Work.... Day 6

Work, day 6. I find myself surrounded by these strange humans who don't use the shower curtain, buying a ton of stuff and who continue to gross me out to this day. Oh wait we've been over that! Anyway, not a horrible board, only 4 checkouts and none of them were horrible. I caught part of Teen Witch on TV as I did he checkouts. I like being able to watch TV, it makes me feel more at home!

I did take a lunch and still managed to then before 3:30! After work I headed over to the Grand Floridian. My intention was to ride the monorail then go to the Contemporary and the Polynesian. But as it always does to me it started to rain and I didn't do it so after the Floridian I headed to Downtown Disney.

I just grabbed dinner at Earl of Sandwich and dessert at Ghirardelli. I got my food and headed back to the apartment.i started to watch Easy A but couldn't stay awake so I'm just gonna crazy.

Teen Beach Movie

Another day working for the mouse, not horrible, three checkouts and that was pretty much it. As I was working I managed to watch Teen Beach Movie which is the newest Disney Channel Movie. Also, I got to see Ricky as an extra in the movie! Which honestly was the main reason I watched but whatever.

I finished at about 3:15. After work I headed back to the apartment to unwind and then I headed to Old Key West for one last visit to there! I headed back after that and watched one of my favorite movies, The Devil Wears Prada!! Now I'm gonna crash!

Brazilians will be the death of me

The manager I like warned me about this day, she told me it was gonna be bad because there was a lot of checkouts, she wasn't lying. I only had 7 checkouts but they were all Brazilians, which means 1-2 gallon trash bags full of garbage. On top of that they didn't leave until 11, so I didn't finish them all until almost 3. My last one, the next set of Brazilians was already trying to get in before I finished the damn room!

All I can say is thank goodness for Ed, our houseperson. He went above and beyond, stripped the beds, got all the garbage out. He truly is the best houseperson! I didn't finish until 4:10, I told the manager I felt like I was gonna pass out, probably because I was dehydrated and I hadn't eaten or gone to the bathroom most of the day. I literally felt like I was gonna keep over at the end of the day it was awful.

After work, I didn't do much, to exhausted as usual. I got some food, got caught up on The Fosters and Twisted. Then I just tried to organize some of the pictures on my phone. I was scrolling through the people I may know section on Facebook and I think it's crazy to see half the people I went to high school with getting married and having kids! I pretty much called it a night after that, to tired to do much else, boy do I hate thurs job

So tired of the bull

I feel like today was just a blur that I'm not even entirely sure happened. Not a horrible day, 3 checkouts and 5 linen changes on two different floors but hey at least the Brazilians that left left me $10.... In coins. I went through my occupieds pretty quick so at about noon I was already done with 11 rooms. My manager asked me if I wanted to buy another room, I figured hey I'm already ahead what's one more, so I got another checkout. I still managed to finish around 3:45 so not bad.

After work I considered going to a resort to take pictures but I still have yet to delete some off my phone and it was kinda dark so I thought it was gonna rain. I ended up back at the apartment, waiting for the rain and it came. So I ended up doing laundry, I ate dinner and I tried to watch this weeks episode of Twisted but my computer is being a pain so that didn't work. I'm probably just gonna go through pictures on my phone and call it a night. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bad day at work... Can't wait

How much garbage can one room have!?

I've learned that I don't like when I have a day where I don't do much because I pay for it the next day. Today I only had 1 checkout but it was a general clean and I had 4 linen changes. Since we had the laziest manager of all today, I didn't bother to go above and beyond in my general clean so I just did an hour in there as opposed to the normal hour and a half.

The occupied rooms weren't all bad but a few of them, garbage literally covering the entire visible floor. I seriously am appalled at how much garbage one room can accumulate! Once again the floors were all sopping wet because apparently shower curtains don't exist in Brazil! The greatest part of the day had to be the room with girls who wouldn't leave but they wanted me to clean it for them.

I had just gotten into that room and they said oh can you come back, we need to shower before we go. I thought okay shouldn't take to long, well they tell me to come back at 3:30 and I just thinking, well shit I can leave after I finish this room so I want to wait for some bossy little teens tell me what to do? I was not happy. I told our manager for the day that they wanted service at 3:30 and she's like thats fine you can do that, I wanted to slap her. So I checked back at 3:30, guess what they were still I there. Finally at 3:50 they see me and say oh you can go in now, sorry. I was fuming because now the bathroom floor was all flooded from them taking a shower and the room was a disaster.

Luckily, Noel a guy who also works in my building came in and made my beds for me. I just wiped everything off, dried the floor, took the garbage and left new towels which is way more than I should have done. I booked out of there and left. I got back to the apartment and was gonna hang around and do laundry but my roommate was there, getting a shower so I didn't want to wait for him so I left. I decided that I hadn't been to Universal to do the dinner and a movie deal so that's what I decided to do!

I stopped and got some icy hot for my back cause its been killing me lately, seriously speaking this job has physically aged me at least ten years. Then I headed to Universal and had dinner at Pastamore, all I can say is that I'm glad the tip was included in the price or the deal or she wouldn't have gotten one. My dinner came before both my drink and the bread basket, she waited on the people who were sat after me before she waited on me and to top it all off she brought me a refill when I was completely done with the meal, probably the worst waitress I've ever had!

After dinner I did a little shopping, got some despicable me stuff for someone's upcoming birthday and a new pair of sunglasses for myself! Then it was time for the movie, I saw Despicable Me 2. I thought it was a cute movie but I feel like more of the jokes were geared towards adults then kids. Like there would be parts where I was laughing and the kids near me weren't and I was like... Oh now I feel old. That's alright though, I knew I should have see. White House Down! Oh well next time. I got some ice cream at TCBY and headed out. Now I'm gonna try to get some sleep and pray my back doesn't wake me up three times like last night!

I feel like I didn't work today...

I think I just had the most surreal day of work of my entire Disney Career. Well we had the usual morning meeting, always exciting. My board was good, just occupied rooms. So I get to the building and start knocking on the doors, I get a few people who barely speak English that say they don't need anything. By the time an hour goes by I've knocked on literally every single door and every room is still occupied so I can't do a single room.

Best room had to be the Brazilian sleeping on the floor in dront of the door and since no one answered when I knocked, guess who got hit with the door! Since at this point I've had 6 rooms tell me not to do anything, I decided to just go sit in the linen room for a bit. I sat there for 45 minutes and made the rounds again. Still no one had left. At that point I saw the manager (the one that I like) coming around and I told her I can't get into a single room. She just said if you still can't by like noon then they can just get trash and towels done.

She asked me if I wanted to check rooms with her, I figured is since I have nothing else to do, why not. So I walked around with her for like an hour and then she came back with me to check my rooms. She was able to ask the guests in Spanish if they needed me to clean today, we ended up with a few more no don't need anythings but still had some left. She also hit the same kid I hit with the door, you would think he would have learned but no! Indy told one of the chaperones that we work 8 hours a day and we can't clean 18 rooms after 1 and she just said don't worry about it! It's their off day it's better if they sleep in.

The manager suggested I take a lunch, so I did. I took about an hour and went to Sports. Heather told me to stop by so I did that and killed another hour. When I got back it was 1:30. Right where I walked back in waited not only my manager by her manager, who I can't stand! Anyway she was like I talked to the chaperone and since they all just left, you can just do the trash and towels. Then her boss felt it was necessary to explain to me how to take out the trash and put the towels in the room.

I really just wanted to punch her, I mean hello I know how to do my job! Anyway so that was all I did, the only room I did totally was one where they had taken a do not disturb sign off but other then that I cleaned nothing!

After work I went to Target and got dinner for Heather and I since Tuesday is the night we watch Pretty Little Liars. I headed over there we watched last Sundays Devious Maids, bothers weeks and this weeks Pretty Little Liars, and we started Twisted but she was to exhausted so I called it a night. Now I get to work all the way to not this coming Friday but the Friday after, that's 10 days in a row of working. I need to go homeZ

Character Hunting at Magic Kingdom

First of all everyone should remember this day, I woke up at 7:30 all on my own. So, I decided to use this to my advantage. I still to this day have yet to see the Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom cause its always at 8:45. I got ready quick and booked it there. Unfortunately I didn't make it I got there at 8:50.

However, I was gonna head there anyway because as part of Limited Time Magic, they were having Long Lost Friends week in which they bring out characters that are never seen and I go to meet them all! First group was Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Sheriff of Nottingham and Prince John from Robin Hood, Chicken Little and Abby Mallard from Chicken Little, Brer Fox, Brer Bear and Brer Rabbit from Song of the South or Splash Mountain and Louis with Dr. Facilier ( the alligator and the villian) from the Princess and the Frog.

After that I just decided to stay and try to meet all the characters I could in the Magic Kingdom. I caught Mary Poppins right in Towne Square. Since at that point it was a lot wait I got a Fastpass to meet the Princesses. Then I headed to Frontierland and met Chil and Dale in their Western Getup. I headed to Fantasyland and finally after trying and failing I got to meet the Fairy Godmother! I haven't seen her since I was here for my first visit in 1995! So that was awesome! I met Cinderella's stepmother and stepsisters, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella back by new fantasyland. Next I met Peter Pan and Wendy near Peter pans Flight.

I headed to the back of the park and met Ariel in her grotto and then everyone at Storybook Circus. Marie from the Aristocats and Pluto were back there (normally they are in Towne Square but they got moved cause of the Long Lost friends). Then Insaw Minnie and Daisy followed by Goofy and Donald all ready for the circus! I met some clowns as well. Then it was time to meet the princesses! Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel.

At this point, I headed to Tomorrowland to see Buzz but since thunder was in the area he left. So I saw Push the talking trash can for the first time, he was neat! Then I just decided to get lunch, I ate at the Liberty Tree Tavern. It was like Thanksgiving! I had turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberries! So amazingly good! After lunch, the rain let up so I met with Woody and Jessie in Frontierland, since I was already there. I missed the White Rabbit and Pooh and friends! I headed back over the Buzz. I was the last one to meet him before he went in.

Since it wasn't pouring, I got in line to see Merida. I was the last one to see her too! Then since they got her inside too, I went to an inside one. I met Tinkerbell and her friend Vidia! That had to easily be the longest of the waits! After them I met Aladdin and Jasmine in Adventureland. Next was Tiana and Naveen. They talked to me about New York style Pizza! After that I just had to meet the big cheese so I met Mickey in Town Square Theater.

I took the monorail to the Contemporary and checked out the pin boards. Then I headed back to my car picked up dinner and pretty much called it a night. My roommate came back and it sounds like we are on the same page again! That's something anyaamk

Tragic beginning turns into an okay day

Waking up today was just surreal. First I check Facebook to learn that Cory Monteith who plays Finn on my favorite show glee has passed away. Truly a tragedy since he was only 31 years old, he had just gotten out of rehab and he was in a relationship with co-star Lea Michele. He is truly a talent that will be missed. Next, after the shock of that news stung a little less I realize I have a wicked headache and the back of my neck is killing me.

I seriously don't think I've ever been in so much pain as I was in that moment and due to my steroid I'm taking for my respiratory infection I wasn't 100% sure I could take any Tylenol for it. Luckily, my mom got an answer from our pharmacist that I could so I took some and tried to go back to sleep but it wasn't easy. I must have done though cause when I came to I felt fine, like I was never even in pain! It was truly a miracle.

I eventually called my mom and we finally booked everything for our return trip home! It took a while but I'm glad we don't have to worry about it anymore! After that I just kinda took it easy until about 3, that's when I decided I needed to do something! So, I headed to Epcot! I was hoping to catch Mickey's Streetbeat which was part of Limited Time Magic. I guess Mickey and friends were having a hip-hop dance party but I missed it. I just walked the world showcase and got lunch at La Cantina de San Angel.

After lunch I walked around future world and decided to head out because it looked like It was gonna rain. I headed to the Art of Animation Resort because I wanted to buy something there that I had only seen there. Of course it was gone. So, I headed to Downtown Disney. I thought about seeing a movie but I wasn't sure so I got dinner at Earl of Sandwich and then walked around World of Disney. Eventually I decided against he movie and just headed back.

I started to make a list of all the things I'd like to do before leaving and I also got caught up on the show Twisted. Now just gotta organize some pictures on my phone and I'll be good to go for tomorrow!

Power Outages Suck

Another day of work, lucky for me I just had occupied rooms! Ever since I've been on this drug for my infection I feel like I've been going really slow at work. I took my lunch and I found out the show Devious Maids was having a marathon so I got to see the episode I missed while I got paid to be the maid, ironic huh?

Everything was fine until I got to my last room. As soon as I knocked on the door this extremely loud bang of thunder shook the building and apparently lightning hit the building and knocked the power out. So I couldn't do much in that room but that also meant the manager couldn't close the building cause she couldn't check if our rooms were all completed on the computer. Eventually we did just get to leave but it took a little bit and the power still hadn't come back.

I grabbed dinner and since my roommate was actually at the apartment, I had to get out because I don't know what his problem is but he's been giving me the silent treatment for a while now and I really didn't need his bull. So I got gas and headed to Heather's. We just hung out and watched TV. She got pretty tired so I left. Went back to the apartment and watched another episode of Devious Maids.

OCD! Germs don't touch me!!!

Nothing much to report today, same old crap, different day. I had two checkouts today. One of them was supposed to be a general clean but I told my manager about my lovely infection and how my immune system is at a weaker state and they told me not do it! Still work was a pain,I was spraying disinfectant everywhere, I was/am using hand sanitizer like every five minutes and I only took my gloves off to change them! I have never felt more like Emma Pilsbury from Glee. I finished at like 3:15 again basically halfway through I was feeling really run down which I can only credit to the steroid so the second half of my rooms was tough.

After work, my everything just hurt so much I just headed back to the apartment. I had my leftovers from Red Lobster for dinner and got caught up on The Fosters. Then I tried to get rid of some of the pictures clogging up my phone, which took awhile. Didn't get as far as I would've hoped but that's alright. Now I just need to push myself through one more day of work and I'm off for two days!

I'm sick... again!

Back to work today. Not horrible only 4 linen changes and no checkouts. I finished super early even with taking a lunch! I finished at like 3:15. At the end of the day my manager was telling me how disrespectful these foreign teenagers were to her. She actually yelled at the kid and I'm just thinking that's awesome these kids need to be taught how to not be a Lyle brat. One even knocked on her office door and said something in Spanish and my manager was just like I have no idea what you're saying, I love how she doesn't care of she's rude to them!

After work I needed to take a trip to a medical place. I have had nasal congestion for over a week and needed it to be treated. I ended up at the sketchiest urgent care I've seen! You know it's sketch when the doctor can pronounce the word respiratory. He wrote me a prescription and he crossed out whatever doctors name was on the top and wrote his ummm okay? Apparently I have an upper respiratory tract infection! So now I'm being out on a steroid.

I got the prescription filled at Target and apparently it weakens my immune system (perfect for my job). I did like however that the pharmacist was also named Scott and he is familiar with my hometown he mentioned Mighty Taco and Zorbas. Oh I miss mighty! Anyway I grabbed dinner for my friend Heather and I and went to her place.

We watched Struck by Lightning which stars and was directed by Chris Colfer also known as Kurt from Glee. That was a good movie. Then we watched LOL starring Miley Cyrus. There was seriously no plot line it was just a bunch of stuff all over the place! Would not watch that again. After that I headed back and called a night. A day of work with a weakened immune system lies ahead of me!

2 movies in one day

Bittersweet day today. Woke up on the late side, did not wanna get up at all! But, I knew that my sis and family were leaving today and I needed to say goodbye. By the time I got to their resort it was around 11:30 and they had to leave at 12:30. They were in the pool so I joined them for a bit.

After everyone got out we grabbed our stuff and headed to the car. We just kinda stood their for a little bit, trying to postpone what we knew was coming. The boys each gave me a hug and I said goodbye to them and Pete. Michelle was the hardest. We both cried and with that they left. I knew I needed to go do something to make me a little less depressed.

I stopped at Caribbean Beach and sat in a hammock until I started to melt from being in direct sunlight so then I left. I decided a movie would distract me and I'd be in air conditioning so I decided to see Monsters University. I had a bit before the show so I ate at Cap'n Jack's for somewhere new. food was just okay, I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again. Then it was time for the movie! It was pretty good, not as good as the original but definitely worth seeing. It kinda gives you a backstory to Monsters Inc.

After Monsters University , I decided since I still was a little down so I decided to see World War Z. That one I didn't care for, big thing for me I feel like there wasn't enough character development. Like we met the characters and the. They start having to run... Okay do I care about these people dying, eh not really. Other than that and I hated the couple who were all over each other. Anyways after that I got some food and called it a night.

Hollywood Studios Round Two!!!

We met up a little later then we had originally anticipated. It was close to 10:30 by the time we left but that's alright. We headed to Hollywood Studios. First thing we did was get FastPasses, not for Toy Story but for Tower of Terror. The adults all wanted to ride it and believe it or not the youngest did as well! We had about an hour until our return time so we saw Beauty and the Beast.

We got Fastpasses for Rockin Roller Coaster after that and we rode Tower of Terror. Michelle and Pete went first to make sure the youngest would be okay and they decided he would so be picked Michelle and I to go with him so we went. He liked it but he didn't want to do it again. We headed towards Toy Story Mania cause it was almost time to get another FastPass but since we still had time we rode the Great Movie Ride.

We got our Fastpasses for Toy Story and then got some lunch at Studio Catering. After lunch Michelle really wanted the boys to meet Mike and Sulley from Monsters Inc. so we headed over there and met them in their new Monsters University attire. Next, the boys we ready for Star Tours and it was time for Rockin Roller Coaster. So we split up Michelle and I went to Rockin Roller Coaster and Pete and the boys did Star Tours.

We switched after that Michelle and Pete went to the roller coaster and I rode Star Tours with the boys. They got delayed getting on so we ended up riding Star Tours twice. I had mentioned to them about Characterpalooza and the oldest really wanted to meet Captain Hook so we headed to Streets of America and waited to see if they would come out and they did!

Captain Hook was there. Along with a whole bunch of characters! Jessie, Green Army Men, Minnie, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Penguin from Mary Poppins, Stitch, Goofy's son Max and some I hadn't even seen Geppetto, Pinocchio and the Queen from Snow White. I've been dying to see the Queen so that was awesome! We were gonna go see Muppet Vision 3-D but it was down. The youngest wasn't feeling to hot so we got inside Pizza Planet and eventually Michelle took him outside and he fell asleep.

While he slept Pete, the oldest and I saw the Monsters University Pep Rally, wasn't terribly exciting. Since he was still asleep we saw the Magic of Animation show with Mushu. He woke up and since we still had Fastpasses for Toy Story he still really wanted to play so we did that. We all loved it and since the wait was down to 40 minutes we waited.

It ended up only being 20 minutes. Finally to end the night we actually got to see Fantasmic. Which the adults loved, the kids didn't want to see it again but I'm glad they got to see it, I love that show! After that we got some food, ate it at the hotel and called it a night.

They're Back!

Today began my awesome three day weekend! I knew my family was coming back today for one more visit before they go home on Wednesday! Until then I didn't have much to do. So, I explored some hotels.

First I went to All-Star Sports to check them in. Then I headed to Coronado Springs. It is so beautiful there! The pool is like a Mayan temple, really cool. Next up I went to Port Orleans and walked around there. First Riverside and then French Quarter. After walking around the resorts I headed back to the apartment to catch up with my mom and organize some pins.

By the time I was done, Michelle, Pete and the boys were here! She had said how she wanted a good dinner so she decided on Red Lobster, which is perfectly okay with me, love that restaurant.

It was so great to be able to get together with them again. I'm even more excited because we are going to the parks one more time tomorrow! Anyway, after dinner we went back to their resort and headed to the pool. The main pool in the sports building was packed and none of us really liked that. So, we headed to All-Star Movies (where they stayed before) and we went to the Mickey pool there.

After about an hour, we headed back up to the room and Michelle and I just caught up for a bit. We talked for like an hour and a half (sure didn't feel like it) and called it a night as both the boys crashed for the night.

It's my Friday!!!!

Pretty rough day at work. I had 8 checkouts. A group of Argentinian people celebrating a quincera left. The rooms were pretty bad trash everywhere and some furniture moved. Thank goodness for the checkout assistants helping out! Despite all the checkouts I managed to finish at 3! I was so ready to leave. Well today was my Friday but on top of that, my manager asked of I wanted Wednesday off too, umm yeah! So now I'm off for three days!!!

I headed back to the apartment after work because I needed to get some pictures off my phone, since it was out of space...again. I went to Downtown Disney after that and I a ticket to see The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. I had a bit before the movie so I got dinner at Wolfgang Pucks and just kinda walked around. The movie was at 10.

Finally it was time to see the movie! It was so hilarious! I can't think of something that wasn't funny! I must say I have loved Melissa ever since Bridesmaids but she definitely did amazing in this movie. They have great chemistry together so it was a fantastic movie!

Winter Summerland Golf!

Work was actually not to bad for once. Only 1 checkout and 4 linen changes but that's okay because none of them were Brazilian!!! I was seriously in slow motion though so that's what took me so long, probably because Pirates of the Caribbean was on tv and I was watching it! Haha. Steven texted me and was actually got the day off so I finally got to see him again!

I suggested we go to play mini-golf for something different and he liked the idea so we headed to Winter Summerland Golf at Blizzard Beach. We get half off so it was only 7.00 to play! We did the winter course first and decided to do the summer course after. It was fun, really cool course! I guess the theme behind it is Santa moved his trailer here and the elves wanted to play mini golf so they built both courses. The summer reminded them of Florida and the winter reminded them of home.

They all had a Christmas theme and they played Christmas music through both courses. I liked when we bought drinks and I saw the guys nametag, I noticed that he was from Dunkirk so i told him and he gave us our drinks for a dollar each. The only problem I had was some guy who was behind us, he was with two kids and I guess his wife (who was not present) works for the company. When he caught up to us and we caught up to the group in front of us and he says are you guys playing or taking pictures (because I was taking pictures of ever hole) but we had finished the hole they got to and were waiting for the next but he said it so snippy so I looked and him and said actually we're waiting for the next hole, you can go ahead. Then he tried to make small talk with us, asking Steven where were from. I walked away cause he losses me off and I would have been more rude then that.

After golf, Steve really wanted to go to Magic Kingdom, as usual. So we headed there. It was only a five minute wait to meet Mickey so we did that. Since I was starving, we got some food at Pecos Bills. On our way there we were trying to get through the Emporium and there was a ton of people coming and only a single line going the way we were going and this guy with a little kid pushes past us and once again I opened my big mouth. I said oh we weren't going fast enough for you and he stops and turns around and says actually you weren't and I was like well there's a crowd of people coming at us what would you like is to do and he just like snickered and walked away cause he knew i was right.

Then we ran back towards Main Street and caught the Celebrate America Fireworks show for the Fourth of July. As part of limited time magic they were doing them all week. They truly were breathtaking! Better than Wishes in my opinion.

Next up was the Celebrate the Magic Castle Projection show. They added the Little Mermaid, Phineas and Ferb and Lilo and Stitch for the summer. Loved it! I mean that was always my favorite show but it was a little more cool with the summer added in! Since the Electrical Parade was in 20 minutes we got a spot and watched that. Like I said to Steven I feel like since I've seen it so many times that now I just point out what's missing or wrong.

We met up with Ricky, since he just got out of work. Both he and Steven needed to go to Walmart. So we went there and naturally that meant I didn't get back until 1 am. Oh well only a month left might as well live it up.

Fort Wilderness is humongous!

I had today off and I think it finally is starting to hit me that this chapter of my life is coming to close. Anyway, I woke up around 8, I got a text from my best friend that made me freak out, so me being worried for her made me jolt up out of bed. The crisis was adverted later so it was fine. You would think since I woke up early I would go do stuff but nope.

I left around 12:30, I headed to the three cast stores and did some damage, hey my birthday is coming might as well treat myself right? Then I headed to Magic Kingdom because they were doing a special pre-parade called the Spirit of 76 basically a mini Independence Day parade. So I got to see that first on main street and after I saw it there, I dashed through the Emporium and saw it again in Town Square and after that I left.

I decided to head over to Fort Wilderness Resort because I had yet to go there and wanted to check it out. Naturally since its a campground as well it's the size of like three football fields. So because I really didn't want to wait for a bus, guess who walked the whole thing. I wanted to hit both stores and the penny presses so I thought I got everything and walked all the way back, only to discover that I missed two penny machines. I took the bus halfway but it was taking to long so I got off and walked the other half and then walked all the way back... Again... In the rain.

Needless to say I was exhausted after all that. I was gonna go to Downtown Disney for dinner and movie but I figured being a Friday night it's gonna be packed so I drove by and discovered that yes it was so I just grabbed some dinner and headed back to the apartment. I ended up watching 13 Going on 30, a fantastic movie. Then I called it a night.

No fireworks for me on the Fourth of July

Well in all my years of living I had never had to work on the Fourth of July, until today. I didn't have any checkouts or anything just all occupied rooms, unforunately they were all occupied by Brazilians. I am not a racist by any means but seriously these rooms were horrible.

The amount of garbage on the floor still baffles me. I mean do they not have garbage cans where they are from? They cut off all these price tags of crap they buy and just throw them anywhere. The biggest problem is when they shower and they don't close the shower curtain, I've seen the bathroom floor have about an inch of standing water which takes forever to mop up.

Luckily I didn't have to deal with that to much because it was only their second day! They didn't shower! I just moved quick and if there was a sopping wet towel I may have accidently held over their suitcase as I walked out of the room. If they had stuff on the bed, it didn't get made. Anyway I could skip something believe me I did. I did take a lunch and still finished by 3:15.

After work I wanted to see fireworks, being the Fourth of July. I thought about going to Magic Kingdom, but they were full to capacity 70,000 people. Crazy right? So then I thought Epcot where they have the most fireworks. I got there and there was just so many people. I was in my car for 20 minutes and a whole row in the parking lot filled up. I guess I wanted to leave more so because I really didn't want to get stuck in traffic as I tried to leave.

So, I thought I would try Downtown Disney to see a movie. I went down one row to park got stuck behind some lady who was try to take this one guys parking space who was next to her not in front of or behind her so she wanted to back up to get the space but I couldn't move because there was someone behind me and we couldn't go around her either because there was someone taking a parking space right next to us, I must have been stuck there for ten minutes. When I finally got free, I was fuming and I got out of there, said screw this and left.

I stopped at Art of Animation and Pop Century and while I was on the bridge between the two I saw a sea turtle in the water, which was awesome! Then I made one more stop at Caribbean Beach and headed back to the apartment. So, in the end I saw no fireworks this Fourth of July, but when I got back I found that little gecko again, still in my apartment. Oh the fun life I lead.

Brazil is my official my least favorite country

Another lovely day in the life of me! The usual, woke up, went to work. One of the golf carts that's drives us to the buildings was broken so I had to walk there. Our manager (the one I sometimes like, but not today) told us that building 3 had a lot of checkouts. Usually the nice manager puts me in the building that doesn't have a lot of checkouts but guess what building I was in today... I had 10 checkouts...10.

I managed to not stop moving and get all 10 done by about 2PM leaving me with 8 more occupied rooms. I thought that the checkouts would be the worst part of my day but boy was I wrong. I discovered that 6 of my 8 occupieds were Brazilians. The problem with that is they apparently don't know how to use a garbage can as they leave the 100 shopping bags and tags all over the floor in their room. They also don't believe in using a shower curtain on the few occasions they actually decide to take a shower. Naturally that meant that every bathroom floor had at least an inch of water in the bathroom that I got to mop up, thus taking me an extra 10 minutes per room.

So I didn't finish until 4:15, didn't get to clock out early which meant I hit the heavy traffic leaving the staff parking lot. I really don't know why I chose to clean up after such disgusting people, I really don't know. After work, I was naturally to exhausted to do anything so I just headed back and as I did I was fuming. I was so pissed about these stupid Brazilians and this job, let's just say I discovered what going 90 feels like in my car.

I got back and just went into my room, got a shower and then headed back out to get food. I really didn't want to talk to my newest roommate due to his comments about how me and my roommate are supposed to help him clean the apartment that he uses. So, I ignored him, but I walked in the door when he was going out when I got back with my food so I had to say something. After I ate, I got caught up on the show The Fosters and of course finally updated my blog! Now, I'm gonna try to read a little bit before I fall asleep but I'll probably just crash from exhaustion instead.

Back to the routine...

Back to the boring routine of my job, whoopie! We had the usual morning meeting. They celebrated some cast members anniversaries with the company. They get a pin to put on their nametag once you reach one year! I wish we had that at my old job! Everyone there knows how much I like pins! There was one guy who was celebrating his fifteenth anniversary with the company and he has been in housekeeping at the All-Star the whole fifteen years, god bless him. I couldn't even imagine doing this that long, I can barely do it for 6 months!

Anyway, I had a pretty easy day only one checkout, but since I had been out of it for pretty much five days, getting back into the swing of things wasn't easy.I finished around 4, if I was with it I'd have finished sooner.

After work I got gas, went to Target and grabbed dinner, you know all the boring stuff I normally do. Then I went back to the apartment and started some laundry, booked our hotel for my last night in Disney and tried for the life of me to update this blog, which took surprisingly longer than expected! I started to dose off after typing the third one and finally called it a night around 11:30. Fun day right!

One More Day!

As I said I would, I ended up calling in to work. Which was good because when my alarm went off at 6:45, I couldn't even open my eyes. When I called they said oh so you're calling in sick, apparently I sounded that awful on the phone. I actually called in personal because I didn't know what we were gonna do and wanted to avoid any problems. I eventually woke up at 11.

Michelle told me they were just packing and then they were gonna head to the pool. So, when I got to their resort, despite being overcast I got in the pool with them. Michelle had mentioned to me that she was still disappointed that they missed the fireworks last night, to which I said it's a shame you're not going today because they are starting their Fourth of July fireworks for the whole week instead of just the fourth. This got her to thinking how cool it would be to see the fireworks. She asked if you could see them outside of the Magic Kingdom and since I had been dying to take them to the Polynesian I told her how well you can see them from the beach there. She ended up talking to Pete and then asking the boys if they wanted to see really big fireworks tonight and since she wasn't 100% sure where to see them once they leave Disney, they decided to stay to see them.

We swam for awhile and it got insanely dark so we got out and that's when it started to rain. First it sprinkled and then it poured so we ran inside and it was coming down in sheets.Eventually we headed to Downtown Disney. Since it was only 4:30, we had time to kill but it was still kinda early so we tried for T-Rex again and this time they took us within 5 minutes! We got to eat in the ice cave! It was so cool because the whole room is blue and it changes colors! I think I was more excited to eat there than the kids. Michelle loved the fossils too! She decided to get an adult drink called a Lava Flow and since I hadn't had one in awhile I figured why not! So I got one too! It's this drink that has Pina Colada mixed with strawberry and pineapple I think? Whatever it was amazing and we got to keep the glasses! So the grown-ups loved it more than the kids!

We were hoping the rain would stop but no such luck. We headed to the World of Disney store and walked around there, the pin store and the toy store. By the time we were done it was about 8:30 and we had to go! We parked at the Transportation and Ticket Center and took the monorail to the Polynesian. We headed right to the beach once we got there and got seats. I was actaully surprised at the amount of people who were there!

We had a great view! For Fourth of July, instead of shooting the fireworks from behind the castle like they do for Wishes, they shoot them at the park's perimeter. They do 180 degrees of the park for the rest of the days but on the actual fourth they shoot them 360 degrees around the park. Still it was an amazing show! Especially since we could still hear the music they were playing since they play it at the Polynesian as well. I liked it because it was more laid back then being in the crowded park.

After the show we took the monorail back and since the Polynesian was the first stop, on the way back we had to circle the whole lagoon. By the time we got back to their resort (only reason we went back was because I left my car there) it was around midnight. We got a snack and then said our goodbyes. It was sad, I'm really gonna miss them! But I was so thankful that I was able to be a part of them experiencing Disney for the first time! That alone almost made all of this program worth it! By the time I got back and went to bed it was around 1.

Magic Kingdom definitely requires two days!

As I mentioned yesterday, Michelle and her family were going to spend a second day at Magic Kingdom so thats where they headed. Unfortunately, since I wanted to meet up with them in the park; I had to go to work. Apparently we were overstaffed because I was an Extra.

So I got all these random rooms throughout the one building, but I only ended up with three checkouts. The biggest problem was that the extra metro wasn't stocked... At all! So it took forever and a day to stock it, which sucked. Good news however was that I only had 14 rooms so I got to finish and leave early as I had hoped.

After work I immediately headed over to Magic Kingdom. Michelle told me they were in line for the boys first time on Splash Mountain. I was hoping to catch them before they went on but I didn't make it!

When they got off the ride she told me that they rode Haunted Mansion and it broke down on them... Twice, they rode Big Thunder Mountain, which the youngest loved! Also, they had gotten FastPasses for Peter Pan's Flight. They still had a bit before they were valid so we waited in line to see Aladdin and Jasmine. The youngest took a nap as we waited which was good because later found out that there was Extra magic hours until 1 am. He woke up when we were next in line. The oldest asked Aladdin how Abu was doing.

After that they rode Peter Pan, I just walked around for a bit then we met up again and decided to ride the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, since it was only a 20 minute wait. At that point we had covered everything they wanted to do except Tomorrowland so we headed there.

We decided to eat so we headed to Cosmic Rays again since they had food that everyone liked. Before I sat down I ran to get Fastpasses for Space Mountain. We ate and then we rode Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Since we all love Stitch, Michelle decided she wanted to ride Stitch's Great Escape. The boys didn't really like it cause of the dark. The youngest said it creeped him out a little. We rode the Peoplemover after. Since we still had some time before Space Mountain, we decided to split up.

The youngest wanted to ride the Astro Orbiter and the oldest didn't, instead he really wanted to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway again. So, Pete and the oldest went on the speedway and Michelle, the youngest and I headed to the Astro Orbiter. Once we saw the wait was 35 minutes we skipped it and the little guy decided to check out Club 626 and he got to dance with Stitch a little bit. He high-fived Goofy and Stitch, so he was excited.

Since the others weren't back yet Michelle let him decide if he wanted to do Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor or Buzz again and he picked the laugh floor. So we got in line, unfortunately we missed the fireworks because we were waiting inside. Michelle told Pete where we were and they met up with us and we saw the show together. Finally it was time to ride Space Mountain! Michelle asked and since the boys would have to sit completely alone she decided that she didn't want to do that to them so the adults rode.

I told Michelle and Pete to go together first. Mostly because our Fastpasses were for 10:10 until 11:10 and it was 10:50 so k didn't think they were gonna make it back in time. They went and then Michelle and I were gonna try to go but it was 11:13. She went to ask if we could use them and since it was after 11 only resort guests could get on. So the lady ignored Michelle, so Michelle complained that we were passed the time because we were ignored and we got on. I love her quick thinking. I just used Pete's resort card.

After that the youngest really wanted to ride Big Thunder Mountain again so we headed over there and since the oldest didn't want to we told him he could take two grown-ups with him and he picked Michelle and I. After that we had asked if the oldest wanted to ride Splash Mountain again but he didn't want to. So we headed out. I asked if she thought I should call in to work the next day to see them before they left and since they were leaving around 4, I would have missed them completely of I didn't call in. Since they all wanted to see me, I decided I would call in. Plus, by the time I got back and went to bed it was 2 AM. So it was the right decision!

Animal Kingdom...Round Two!?!?!

Today was a very awesome day because we had discussed options last night and Michelle had decided that she loved Animal Kingdom so much that she wanted to do one more day there, which meant that their second day at the Magic Kingdom had to be postponed one more day so they bought another night in their room and now they aren't checking out until Monday the 1st. So, once again we slept in until 9/10 and by the time we got to the park it was close to or after 11.

We started off by getting a few more Wilderness Explorer badges for the boys and since the youngest really wanted to, we went over to Dinosaur and rode that again. The oldest really didn't want but eventually Michelle was able to talk him into it. Then we had deja vu, we got Fastpasses for Kali River Rapids...again! The boys got some more badges and then we were able to get another FastPass, so, we got one for Everest...again!

Since we had a bit before either pass was good we walked around the Maharajah Jungle Trek. We got to the building with the bats and apparently due to an incoming storm they closed the path. So we could either stay in the bat enclosure or leave the path. Everyone started to be escorted out except us until we were the last ones in the bat building. They asked us if we wanted to leave but we kinda didn't because both rides we were waiting for were near the jungle trek, but since if it did started to storm we would be locked inside the bat enclosure...we left.

The storm seemed to blow over so the rides were up again and it was time for Kali River Rapids. Since her oldest apparently doesn't like to get wet unless he's in a pool we didn't tell him about the ride. I ended up suggesting we wear our rain ponchos and Michelle was thrilled with the idea. That way he could still ride, but he wouldn't get very wet! Once again, the youngest loved it! The oldest, I'm pretty sure he didn't like getting wet, even a little. It started to rain hard so we waited under shelter for a minute and when it let up we headed over to Everest.

Since the boys weren't quite ready for the yeti, the grown-ups took turns. I went with Michelle first, while Pete stayed with the boys. She loved it! She said it was just enough for a roller coaster so that it was to much. I was just excited I got to go on with her for her first time! When we got back Michelle was gonna have Pete go with me but I suggested that they go together. I mean she told me that up until this day she hasn't ridden a roller coaster since she was pregnant with her oldest son, he's 7. So I was thrilled that I could let them go enjoy a roller coaster together. They had a blast.

Next up, we headed to Dinoland to the Dig Site. The boys got to run around, get some more badges and we got some cool pictures. Then, after telling them we must see it, we finally headed over to the Festival of the Lion King. I guess during the show one of the monkeys came and picked fleas off the boys, I somehow missed that. The oldest said he liked the show, the youngest said he didn't...because it wasn't long enough! After that we had pretty much covered everything that they wanted to do that we didn't do yesterday.

We headed out the boys were fine with McDonald's (again) but the adults wanted something more filling. On that note we headed to Downtown Disney. The grow ups had dinner at the infamous Earl of Sandwich! Which they loved! I mean c'mon it's Earl! We walked through a few shops and called it a night.

Getting wild for a first visit to Animal Kingdom!

Today was a very exciting day, not only was it the boys first time going to Animal Kingdom but it was also Michelle and Pete's first time too! The first thing we did was get a FastPass for the Kilmanjaro Safari.

As we waited for that we walked on the Pangani Forest Trek. Michelle was trying to find these books for the boys to do called Wilderness Explorer books. Basically, you go around the park and do various activities and get badges. We found them on the trail so the boys started collecting badges right away.Once our safari passes were good we got FastPasses for the Kali River Rapids. Then it was time for the Safari! We saw a lot of animals! Let's see ostriches, flamingos, hippos, alligators, elephants, antelope, giraffes, wildebeasts, warthogs and so many more! . Since we had a while before they were valid, we headed to Rafiki's Planet Watch. The boys got some more badges and Michelle loved the whole conservation area. Of course the boys also met Rafiki!

By the time we got back we were able to get another FastPass so because Michelle really wanted to we got FastPasses for Everest! Unforunately it started to downpour, which put a damper on the rest of the day, they closed both the rapids and Everest. We were huddled under this area near the River Rapids waiting for the rain to let up. We grabbed some ice cream for the kids and pretzels for the adults right before the rain started. After standing in the shelter for about 20 minutes we decided to do soething constructive instead of wasting the day so we went and saw Finding Nemo the Musical.

It's a good show but since we got there 15 minutes before showtime we were sitting all the way in the back and the boys couldn't see much, but we moved them around so they could see what they could. After the show the rain let up a little so we headed over to Dinosaur. The youngest loved it! And he immediately wanted to do it again, the oldest kept his eyes closed for most of the ride and didn't want to do it again. I was truly amazed at how much the little one liked it!

Then we saw the It's Tough to Be A Bug show in the Tree of Life. Michelle loved how cool the show was along with all the "surprises" she thought it was adorable. On our way out, we walked through some shops and for dinner we decided to try to get into Rainforest Cafe and lucky for us we got in within 5 minutes! We ate dinner and even though the park closed at 7 we didn't leave until almost 9. We headed back and called it a night.

A first visit to the Magic Kingdom is always amazing!

Today we had a pretty late start because the boys especially hadn't ever woke up early and stayed out late back to back. So, today we ended up at Magic Kingdom. We all agreed that Magic Kingdom was easily gonna take them two days to do. We took the monorail over which was the boys first time on the monorail, so that was exciting! On our way in we asked the boys if they wanted to meet the princesses and they said yes so we got FastPasses for it. Since we had awhile, Michelle decided which part they wanted to start at and that's where we headed. She decided to start with Storybook Circus!

Since the morning/early afternoon was already hot and humid we tried to see if the boys wanted to go in the Splash 'N' Soak, since she had brought their bathing suits just in case. The oldest wouldn't do it, he refused to get wet despite how much he loves the pool. The youngest said he would but only if both he and Michelle changed into their bathing suits and she didn't bring hers so it didn't happen. I suggested we meet Donald and Goofy in Pete's Silly Sideshow and since it's not only air conditioned but the wait was only 20 minutes, it was perfect.

After that we tried to decide whether to ride The Barnstormer (mini roller-coaster) or Dumbo. We ended up on Dumbo. They loved that they could play on a playground while they waited and the grown-ups did too. Pete (Michelle's husband) sat with the oldest, I sat with the youngest and Michelle went alone. They both seemed to enjoy the ride which was great! I was happy I got to go on with them, I mean a kid's first time on Dumbo is a big deal!

Next, we headed over to the Tomorrowland Speedway. This time I went with the oldest, Michelle with the youngest and Pete by himself. I just had to push the pedal. He did an awesome job steering, only bummed the track three times! Not bad for a new driver!! We grabbed lunch at Cosmic Ray's. After lunch it was time to meet the princesses!

As some of you may know, at Town Square Theater you meet Cinderella, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) and Rapunzel. So, we met Rapunzel first, the oldest said he was gonna ask her how Eugene was (for those who don't know that's Flynn's real name, and if you don't know who Flynn is then I can't help you) I didn't think he would actually do it but he did and it was the funniest and most adorable thing I've seen! The youngest asked about Pascal. They also discussed dragons. They must have talked to her for a while because the other two princesses were waiting by the time we were done! Aurora they didn't say much to because they haven't seen her movie, and Cinderella, I told the oldest to ask about the mice but I don't think he knew who I was talking about so he didn't but they talked to her for a little bit and that was it.

We headed on over to Adventureland after that and decided on the Enchanted Tiki Room. The youngest who not only likes birds but also seems to want to do almost everything a second time, wanted to do it again. The oldest didn't seem to like it. Next we rode the Flying Carpets of Aladdin, luckily we all fit in one carpet so that was fun. Next up, we did Pete's favorite Pirates of the Caribbean. The oldest was kinda freaked out because of the darkness so he sat in between his parents while the youngest sat with me. The oldest didn't like it at all, he didn't like the drop, he didn't like the dark and he didn't watch most of the time. The youngest said he wanted to do it again so I'm assuming he liked it.

After that we got FastPasses for the Jungle Cruise and in the meantime we got the infamous Dole Whips, which Michelle and her family have only had in Hawaii. The boys wanted to meet Tiana but that didn't work out. So, we rode the Jungle Cruise. The boys liked seeing the animals but they didn't get the corny jokes from the skipper.

After the ride we headed out cause we were all pretty pooped. We took the boat back, since we took the monorail over and just as we got back Wishes (fireworks) started so we stood on the dock and watched. Then we headed back and called a night

First Visit to Hollywood Studios!

Today was an awesome day! It was my "nephews" first time in a Disney Park! I got up around 8:45, left about 9:15 and grabbed breakfast on the way and headed to their hotel. We got to Hollywood Studios around 10:30.

Naturally the first thing anyone should do if they are in Hollywood Studios is get a FastPass for Toy Story Midway Mania, so I ran and did that. We met back at the hat and saw Stitch a favorite for all of them, so that was good. On the other side we saw Chip and Dale. Next we headed over to some rides. Since both boys love Star Wars, we did Star Tours. One loved it, the other one wanted to do it again but not til later. We did it again anyway.

Next we saw the Indiana Jones Stunt Show. Boys were kinda bored when they were changing sets but it was still a good show, again one loved it the other one hated it. Then we got FastPasses for the Voyage of the Little Mermaid and headed over to the Animation Building. On the way we saw Handy Manny and Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Inside, we saw Ralph and Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph.

After that it was time to go see the Little Mermaid. After the show one of the most magical moments of a kids life occurred, the boys met Mickey Mouse for the first time! We headed over and they met Lightning McQueen and Mater and then Phineas and Ferb. Finally it was time to ride Toy Story! We had a great time! The youngest had better accuracy then me! He did very well for his first time! The boys got to play on the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and then we did the Backlot Tour, yet again one hated the other one loved it.

We grabbed some ice cream, the boys had their first Mickey Bars and we watched some Pattawan Jedi Training show. The boys liked it. Since they loved it so much, we did Star Tours again. On the way out we hit a few stores and then headed back to the resort, and we took a dip in the pool since we all needed to cool down and we got a pizza from the resort and ate that cause we were starving, and then we called it a night

My family is here!!

This morning I decided to get up a little earlier to head to work earlier because I was gonna stop at All-Star Movies and show my id so my sister would not have a problem checking in because today's the day she arrives in Disney! At work we had a morning meeting. Nothing really interesting. I only had three checkouts so not a bad day work wise. I don't know if it's because I was so excited or what but even after taking a lunch, I finished at 3:15!

After work I naturally was gonna rush over to see them but being that I was sweaty and gross and I knew they were in the pool I decided to go get a ticket, so we wouldn't have to worry about it in the morning and then I headed back to get a shower. Back at the apartment our crazy, party roommate taped a note to our door about how we don't clean the apartment and all I can think is when I start using the other rooms then I will clean them. I really hate them. Anyway, I met them at their resort. When I saw them in the cafeteria, Colin (the youngest) comes running up to me to give me a hug it was adorable!

After that we went to Downtown Disney, we were originally gonna eat at T-Rex but the wait was an an hour and a half! Then we were gonna go to Earl of Sandwich but there was nothing the boys would have liked so we ended up at Bodies/ Pollo Campero. Food was just okay and since I ordered my meal and one of the kids, the stupid lady messed it up she ordered mine and handed me a pager and I'm like I wasn't finished yet! So she writes it on and then they don't have it for like 20 minutes!! Everyone else had to wait for us to eat, probably won't eat there again!

After that we went into T-Rex and the boys did Build-A-Dino. They were so excited! Their new friends are named Spike and Spiky (they did not consult one another on the names) the. We headed out since everyone was kinda beat and we just stopped at Target and then headed back to their resort. Tomorrow is out first day in the parks!!

Best Manager Ever!

Another day, another dollar. Only had two checkouts today not bad. My manager was a little down today so I listened to her talk. Also is so awesome! She got me off Thursday, the only day that got denied twice! So now I get to see my sis and her family Wednesday-Saturday. I'm so excited to see them!!

After work I got my haircut probably for the last time while I'm down here, which worked out cause the girl I've been going to is moving back to hometown in three weeks. I got gas and grabbed dinner. Then I came back to the apartment and just kinda relaxed until I saw a gecko running around our room. I chased him for a good hour and still have yet to catch him. But I have work so I need to sleep, how he doesn't bite me :/

Sunday, June 23, 2013

My managers are awesome sometimes!!

Work was kinda weird today. Well first I was originally off so that may have been part of the reason. Anyway so out manager today says oh not to many checkouts, I see people who have like 1 or none and I think okay this is gonna be an easy day... I get 7. My manager said I need to speak to you when she gave me my board and I was like... Okay?? I said did you want me to wait and she's like no go ahead.

Later both of my managers came and found me, they said so what days did you want off this week (since my family is coming) and I said well I found people to cover for me for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but I didn't find anyone for Saturday. So they said okay well we're gonna talk to the scheduling manager for you, I mean if we could get days off for someone else last week why not you? At that they left.

So later they come back and they're like guess what... You're off Saturday! And I'm like how, and they just said oh we just sold you to her. We said how you're a good housekeeper, good worker, always do what you're asked. So she did it! I was in shock, I mean I've been trying to get this week off for a month and after being denied like 3 times, I finally get them! I'm beyond excited!!!

After work I told my sis the good news! They are getting excited!! I was just walking around Target since my roommate was at the apartment, after we got off the phone, I grabbed dinner and ended up going to Downtown Disney and saw the movie This is the End.

It wasn't hilariously funny but it had its moments. I doubt I would sit through it again though. I feel like its one of those movies you watch once and you say been there saw that. After the movie I grabbed a little snack and headed back and called it a night.

Successful Day at Magic Kingdom

Today was my only day off and I still woke up at 7:30. I just decided to get ready because I figured I was already up anyway. So I actually left here by 8:15! I know I'm just as amazed as you are. I headed to my resort actually and decided to hunt down somebody who was wiling to switch off days with me so I cod actually be off next week.

After walking around for about an hour I found someone to switch with, I just have to keep my fingers crossed that it gets approved. After that I decided to head to Magic Kingdom. However, being the lazy person I am, I went to the Polynesian and took the monorail. Which I think is perfectly acceptable since security said I can't go in the pool or the beach (apparently) she mentioned nothing of the monorail.

Once at the Magic Kingdom I headed toward the castle because I was looking for the Fairy Godmother. I never get to see her because she always comes out in the mornings and usually by the time I get there she's gone. Unfortunately she wasn't there. I headed over to Adventureland and decided to play the new Pirate's Adventure interactive game. Basically you walk around Adventureland with a treasure map and things will move or talk it's actually pretty cool!

I did two of the five adventures and then the game broke down so I decided to get lunch and I ate at Tortuga Tavern. I've been trying to eat there for a while but it's only open until 3 so I usually miss that as well. After lunch it as still down so I played the Sorcerer card game. I defeated Yzma from the Emperor's New Groove and I went on to defeat Chernabog and Hades which led me to win the game! I am now a Master Sorcerer. Now I can go back around and defeat them all again on medium as opposed to easy.

After that the Pirates Adventure was back up. So, I did the other three adventures and found all of Calypso's treasures! Also a pretty cool thing. By that time it was really hot so I got a Pineapple Float and headed towards the exit. One of the cashiers asked me it was good because she'd never had one. I was like but you work here how have you never had one? I told her it was delicious and that she needed to go right after work to have a Dole Whip.

I got on the resort monorail and headed to the Contemporary. I checked around for pins and finally got back to the Polynesian. Next I went to Cast Connection and got some pins and this Beauty and the Beast statue that was originally $52 and I got it for $13! After that I was gonna go to meet Heather, since I had run into her at one of the stores but my mom wanted to Skype.

I went back to the apartment and Skyped with my mom and went through all my junk. After that I got a late dinner at Subway which is apparently less then a mile from here and talked to a few people on Facebook. Once again instead of watching a movie on Netflix, I dozed off.

Deployment sucks

Today was an odd day to say the least. We had our morning meeting; nothing really exciting about that but then I went to get my board and found out I was deployed to another location. Instead of being in Rock like usual, I was in Calypso which lucky for me has suites. To top it all off I ended up with three suite checkouts. I've never been so stressed in all my life.

It took from 9-1 to do all three suite checkouts, the last one there was so much garbage I couldn't believe it. After that I had three suites occupied and 8 occupied regular rooms. My first occupied suite was a nightmare I don't know if I was exhausted or just stressed or what but I literally balled my eyes out in that room saying I can't do this anymore and my nose was bleeding too it was just a great experience all the way around.

Luckily, I managed to finish at 4 and leave which was good. After work I went back to the apartment. I was gonna meet up with Terry again but due to rain I just got dinner and headed back. My roommate really wanted me to go with him to see the new Monsters University movie but I knew being opening day at Disney it was gonna be packed. He left to go and I eventually decided to join him but he had already gotten a ticket and the show was now sold out so I went back. He came back 15 minutes later and threw a fit because he had to change his ticket for tourists apparently and that was the end of the day.
