Check-In Day

Today I checked in to my college program, got my location I will be working at Disney's All-Star Resort in housekeeping, met my roommates and moved into my apartment. It was a pretty rough day, I couldn't sleep from the nerves and I woke up at about 3:30 AM. When I got there they were already out of parking spaces and the stupid crossing guard couldn't tell me that cause he was to busy chatting up with somebody so I sat and blocked traffic for a while. Then I got lost walking to where the line was so I had to ask some super perky lady and she told me where to go. I finally got in line around 6. Checked-in, registered my car and all the stuff then we went to the casting building, on the way there we got to play Disney Trivia on the bus. When we got there we got to see the only building with the doorknobs the same as the ones from Alice In Wonderland. Inside, they have 12 gold statues of famous Disney characters including Roger Rabbit, Thumper and of course Mickey Mouse! This is where we got our training schedule, background check, and i-9 information. After we got back from casting we were done for the day. I moved some stuff in and then I would go back to our hotel at Caribbean Beach and grab stuff or visit with my mom, who now leaves tomorrow instead of Thursday, but with good reason. After dropping more stuff off I helped mom weigh her luggage and we got dinner at Shutters at our resort which was pretty good. Then we had to say goodbye which was really tough, it broke my heart to see my mom like that, I'm hoping I can run-over for breakfast before she and I both get busy but it might not work out so we will have to see. Right now I'm feeling pretty out of place and overwhelmed but hopefully I'll settle in....
