Training is never easy

I'm not sure how this happened but this is actually Saturday February 16th Blog no todays. Anyway today was my second day of on the job training. We had to do a total of 6 suites which since a suite is two rooms than that would be 12 rooms. I got to meet Heather who started a few months ago and she is pretty funny so her and I will probably have no problems getting along, Martha knows some pretty cool people. Anyway, one of the rooms we got was not only a checkout but also a general clean (which means you clean EVERYTHING).So we started off in one of the suites, even though we knocked three times, when we opened the door the guest was still inside, so we left and came back. They did ask us to find a tripod for there camera which they lost in their room. Martha found it later that day under the sofa bed. Anyway, so since they were still in there room we went on to another one. We cleaned it, it wasn't that bad because they had just arrived today and we cleaned it as a checkout yesterday so it went by pretty quick. Then we went to another suite, did that one. We thought we would be able to help Heather cause she had a lot of rooms today. We were making pretty good time, by the time we went to lunch we had done all of our suites other than the one with the general clean, so we honestly thought we would be able to help her. Martha had gotten a 12 dollar tip from one of the guests who checked out and when she was able to get change at lunch she said she always splits her tips and offered me 6 dollars. I refused to take it, because she had cleaned the room all week, I just helped her today so honestly I didn't earn that money and I would have felt bad taking it. After lunch our house person came looking for us to tell us that a guest had a problem with one of the rooms we had just cleaned. So all three of us went to the room. We were a little surprised because that was the room that was a checkout yesterday and a new person just came in today. So we knew we had done a good job cleaning that room. The guest claimed that she had found a cockroach under the sofa bed and that her and her husband had killed it and thrown it outside (meaning no one actually saw this cockroach) she also claimed that when they got there the bathrooms had not been cleaned well (although she never pointed out something specific) I will admit that I cleaned all the bathrooms today but I did not clean them yesterday, Martha did and she is known for her bathrooms. So the guest left and we looked under the couch and found a sucker that wasn't opened so we picked that up and vaccumed behind the couch and where it was and then left. Our manager came to us and asked what had happened and Martha explained what happened and our manager got a new room ready for the guest even though they didn't request one. Our manager thought it was impossible to complain about Martha's bathrooms. Anyway so that set us back. Finally we got to our general clean and since it was a check out as well it took us a good two hours to clean. EVERYTHING in that room. Heather stopped by and told us that she only had two more rooms and one was a DND or Do not Disturb so she was actually checking on us! We finished right around 3:40 and restocked our metro (cart) for tomorrow and left at the usual 4:10, hopped a go cart back and then punched out at 4:30. I found out that Heather likes Glee which as most of you know is my favorite show and she also watches Once Upon A Time and Pretty Little Liars two more of my favorites! So now we have tons to discuss which is good! After work I stopped at McDonalds and got dinner and brought it back to the apartment with me and I decided to catch up on Glee since I was pretty beat from work and the parks are a madhouse on Saturdays anyway. So now I'm just about ready to head to bed after I finish my snack, so I can do it all over again tomorrow!
